4 pm - Check-in begins (but you can arrive earlier if you want to help set up)

6 pm - 7:30 pm - Open Old-Time Jam

  • Western Squares (Not to be confused with Modern Westerrn Squares) - Phil Jamison
  • Partner Dancing Basics - Two-Step, Waltz, and Polka (no partner necessary) - Jack Dwyer
  • Flatfooting and Clogging - Kim Forry and Jan Scopel

Calling Workshops:
  • Calling 101 and 102 - Learn to call your first square dance!
  • Open Mic calling with Feedback - Janine Smith and Susan Taylor

Music Workshops:
  • Old-Time Fiddle (all levels) - Amy Alvey
  • Clawhammer Banjo (all levels) - Brad Kolodner
  • Old-Time Guitar (all levels) - Mark Kilianski
  • Harmony Singing - Amy Alvey and Mark Kilianski
  • Shape Note Singing - Corinne Ducey
  • Old-Time Slow Jam - Brad Kolodner

  • Northern Virginia Fiddle Tunes - Sandy Hofferth

Need a break from workshops? How about:
  • Instrument petting zoo - strum a banjo, try out a fiddle, or pluck a few guitar strings
  • Lawn games - bocce, ladder ball, hula hoops, and other diversions
  • A lunchtime roundtable discussion on organizing square dances and jams
  • Enjoy the park and its natural beauty. Explore miles of hiking trails. a nearby lake, or just admire nature within the largest greenspace located within the metropolitan Washington, D.C., area.​​

11:30 - 12:00: A final, farewell dance.

12:00 - 1:30 pm: Please help us clean up!​​
